Hi all,

Has anyone noticed a good deal on a hdmi capable satellite box lately?
I only have hdmi cables to my TV and my receiver can't upscale/convert analogue video to hdmi output.

Doesn't need to record, just view satellite channels via hdmi.

Cheers.

As an aside, my parents purchased a dishtv (non hdmi) freeview approved satellite box lately and it was really good.  Can't record though.  Had proper MHEG5 EPG (which was surprisingly quick) and it also allowed you to easily add other channels in which I thought was cool.  So they have a freeview approved unit, with SBS tuned in.  There is also a EIT based EPG for channels not featured in the MHEG5 on.  Paid $150 I think, but it's been on special lately at Warehouse and Bond and Bond for $99 which I think is an awesome buy for a real basic but easy to use box.

Well have a look at Digistar 860UH

Digistar 860UH is an upgrade model of 811UB which comes with HDMI output. I have the original Digistar, and it has not missed a beat for over two years now.

Can't recommend a Vu+Duo highly enough, but if you don't want to record it's probably overkill.

I know its not as cheap as a basic box, but the DishTV S7050PVR has a good HDMI output
