The documentation for the DVB-S2600U is somewhat incomplete in that there are functions on the remote that aren't covered in the docs, some of which are quite useful. The ones I've found so far:

Unlabelled buttons at the bottom of the remote: #2 and #4 start recording, 'OK' stops it (that is, 'Stop" is the default action selected when you start recording, so hitting 'OK' actives this option). This is useful for recording a show without having to turn on the TV and go through various menus.

For playback, the green button pops up the USB menu, the "TS" option allows playback. During playback, unlabelled button #1 is fast forward, unlabelled button #4 is fast reverse (the opposite of what you'd expect), and unlabelled button #3 is stop-and-rewind (which is really annoying). 'Pause' pauses playback, but there's no way to resume playback that I've been able to find without going through the on-screen menu. This also makes the FF/REV functionality of the unlabelled buttons somewhat less useful, since once you've started FF/REV you have to go through a menu to stop it again.

Has anyone else found any undocumented functionality in the remote? Anyone know of anywhere that has updated, possibly less buggy, firmware?

Replying in this thread because the original thread ("YESS DVB-S2600U no signal") has been locked: I'm now seeing the clock problem as well, the clock is stuck at 14:15 on 1/12/2010 and nothing will change it.  Someone in the original thread mentioned turning the unit off between 1am and 6am, is this a one-off to reset the clock or do you need to do it every night?

(Maybe we need to start a new thread catalogueing all the device's assorted bugs for new users).
