DVB-S or DVB-T?
Prime is already on the Freeview platform and should be tuned in when you scan on DVB-T. It does here in North Shore.
I can't say for DVB-S as I only have Terrestrial.

You cant add analog channels to a digital tuner, you need an analog one.

The TAB should get their act together to get on freeview, at the moment they have only got analog with incorrect aspect tagging transmitting here in auckland. Juice would be good too.

Yeah what richms is saying is Trackside etc isn't broadcast FTA on the digital platform, only on the older analogue TV, or via digital but encrypted by SKY. So no, you can't tune these channels via a freeview unit, as it's just not there in a form it can see.

If you have a freeview unit, the best you can do is a fresh scan with a good aerial and you'll have every channel available to you.

Trackside (TAB) have just started broadcasting on Freeview today on channel 11. The only problem is, I have to manually punch in the channel number on my TV but not the recorder. I think it's because MHEG-5 data isn't being transmitted for the channel yet so it hasn't added it to the channel list. However enough MHEG-4 data is, which is what my recorder takes so that's why it IS on my recorder channel list.

I just did a rescan on my STB and found Trackside on CH 11 but also have to punch in CH 11 to go to it. Going CH up bypasses it. Now sure if TiVo adds the channels for you or you have to do a rescan..

As I said, it's not actually adding to the channel list for MHEG-5 receivers. This should come right once they send programming data. They just haven't got round to it yet.

Well, my panasonic TV (MHEG-5) added trackside withut telling me. I can get at it by pushing the buttons manually but it won't add it to my channel list and doesn't recognise that a new channel has been added.

My Panasonic recorder, however, alerted me and added the channel to the list just fine. It is MHEG-4. That is the only real difference in processing that I can see.

what do you mean by incorrect aspect tagging? Do you mean that it is forced 16:9 letterboxing as compared with 4:3 or 14:9 for other UHF channels?

The analog one is flagged as 4:3 when it is letterboxed content, so any widescreen TV will instead of zooming it to full screen, show it in letterbox and pillarbox, and one one of my TVs it disables the zoom control when it gets WSS on the signal so all the horseraces look like a music video on C4 with black all around it on analog. The digital is working fine tho.

Juice manage to send a FHA analog signal out so I dont know why the other channels are not able to do that.

Any idea if they will be transmitting trackside on freeview on DVB-S. Gave TAB a call but they were not forthcoming with a answer. I realise they transmit this on the sky platform.

Yeah I suspect this a major for some people not moving to the sat based freeview service in some areas.  I think SKY will probably hold on to this for quite a while for this reason.
