Is it possible to get FreeviewHD (in Wellington) 'out of the box' with 7MC or do you need to install seperate codecs ?

Just want to know if Im barking up the wrong tree or not with a fresh W7 install.

At the moment I have it showing the mediaworks and sbs channels with no problems but the tvnz ones are pixelated, stuttering and have mostly green pixles on them even though it tells me the signal strength is close to 100% in the settings.

The aerial and cable are all good, because Ive had it all working perfectly with Mediaportal before now.

Ive done a fresh W7 Enterprise install and am using a Haupaugge HVR-4000, with the W7 installed drivers for the moment.

Cheers

Try updating your ATI drivers. ATI had problems decoding h.264 which has been fixed in later versions.

So W7 updated the drivers itself to ones released in october and all I get is a back screen with the sound. I installed the ATI CCC software and its no different.

I must be missing something obvious.

So it would seem Im experiencing the typical ATI driver issue with freeviewHD. The built in HD3200 cant handle it on its own.

As I see it I have two choices. Move to an Nvidia graphics card with the 8600GTS appearing to be satisfactory, or do what Ive done in the past which is use Coreavc.

I was hoping this issue wouldve been fixed by now as I remember it from a year or two ago !
