Hi everyone found this deal on Trademe, could be a great Christmas present!!

Also great cause have seen this Scout Group on Trademe heaps (including many times on the "cool auction" link)

Well if you feel that it is shill bidding then be a meanie and report the fundraising auction to trademe, I dont see a problem if the scouts are fundraising and he is interested in the product too.

Kraven, yes you are 100% correct I am involved in Malvern Scout Group, in fact I am one of the leaders and yes I am bidding on this auction as I do on other auctions. This is a fundraising auction different to a standard auction, we are working extremely hard to raise $40,000 to get some wonderful boy and girl scouts to Mystery Creek Hamilton this Christmas, in just over 6 months we have raised $39,000 and have $1,000 to go. As our group are part of the Charity Commission we are permitted to list auctions on Trademe (Trademe themselves are right behind us and have been fantastic supporting us) advertising our sponsors and have no problems in parents within the group bidding on the auctions. I have a genuine interest in this auction hence me bidding on it. We have been over the past 6 months very high profile with some of our Trademe auctions some of them hitting the news media and Campbell Live which we are very proud of. In total we have exceeded 600,000 hits on our auctions.

Why not be straight up in your initial post? You made it sound like you'd just happened upon this auction by a random scout group that you'd seen on trademe, when really you probably were the one that listed it!
