Looking at updating the UHF aerial on our house.  The one here is an old Sky UHF one and seems to have issues with the Kordia Mux.

I note a 'kit' for $99 at DSE... Anyone got one of these?  Any Good?

Not really worried about the mounting pole as I have one.. mainly after the mounting bracket, balun, cable and connectors.

We are in central Lower Hutt.

A friend got one of these about a year ago to feed his new Samsung Freeview|HD TV and it seems to be adequate enough. He is in a medium-good strength signal area.
Depending on the signal strength at your location, you may need to purchase a masthead amplifier as well.

Here's the Freeview|HD coverage map for your area:
http://www.freeviewshop.co.nz/downloads/wellington.pdf

He does note that on occasion he gets signal drop-out, but not too bad.

However, before buying any new aerial, the first thing to do is to check the current cabling. It could well be that the current aerial is fine, and you just need to replace the cable to RG6.
Have a look at your current cabling and report back.

Also, gotta love the DSE URL system. Here it is again in working form. :)

Hope the helps.

Looks like it's a 'Strongline' one.

There is signs of corrosion on the rear 'mesh'.  Didn't get to check the balun, though I notice also the cable is looking rather tired.  There's no markings to indicate what type of cable it is.

I'm in Kings Cres, Lower Hutt so from what I can see on the coverage map coverage is 'Very Likely'.
The aerial is pointing in the direction of the Queensgate Mall area.

Ok, got an aerial from Brunzy.. Thanks Brunzy! Turns out I have direct line-of-sight of Fitzherbert. Hutt Hospital is just to the left. With 15m of RG6 Coax attached my Samsung is reporting 85% signal Level and 0 Bit Error Rate, so looks good.
I also no longer have any issues with the Kordia Mux.

Now, tommorow I shall navigate the 1920's ceiling joists (gotta love those) and get the cable down the wall (thanks to a old gas flu down the wall which means there are no dwangs to contend with.

Time for a beer.
