As far as I can tell a 'dreambox 518" is not a dreambox at all but a pirated clone of a DM600.

Yes they do (as far as I know) work in NZ.

dreambox (The NZ distributor is a member here if I remember right) but the NZ prices for them are so expensive (last time I checked) it was cheaper importing a real one from overseas than sourcing it from the NZ Distributor)
