I've just acquired (via TradeMe) a bare Digistar DSS-810U with no manual or documentation.
Can anyone advise where to find some documentation?

I've searched here & elsewhere on the internet for a manual, with no success. I think that something should be on http://www.dgstb.com but nothing related (IMHO) is there.

This is my first involvement with setting up digital TV. Upon plugging in it, I get a rather unhelpful 'Attention! No or Bad Signal' (or maybe it is helpful)
I get the same message regardless of whether I attach the ex-sky-satellite cable or not.
Is there something required to activate the LNB power supply? Any other 'traps for young players' ?
Sky was last used perhaps 3 years ago, and I'm aware that tthere might be a problem with either the cable or LNB.

Any guidance would be appreciated.

Try setting LBN frequency to 10750 MHZ

I have a Digistar 810U with documentation (planning to sell it on trademe soon actually).

If you're in Auckland, feel free to come look at the manual.

I managed to get it working pretty easily, but that was some time ago.

hmmm. Telling me to press the 'FAV' button would have been more useful. I have found no way to set the LBN freq to 10750, but by resetting to factory defaults & rescanning it now works. Thanks for your time anyway

Thanks Michael. That would be useful, but now I've got started I'll probably be okay (missed your message as I hadn't refreshed page for a while!)
