I'm currently looking to purchase a HD DVB-S receiver. The recent Ultraplus 900HD looks as if it will meet my requirements, however, given its recency onto the market I'm keen for any feedback from persons who have some hands on with this unit, regards.

I assume you got the email from Freeviewshop as well ?  I got that and went to find a review and got your post here :-)

Technically it does sound good, lots of nice features and should have some good 3rd party support as well if it accepts the same plugins as the other ones in the range.

I saw it advertised on their webpage; emailed them to get more detail, in particular comparison with the 980HD and received the following info: Utilises the new ST7110 processor compared to 980HDs ST7109, both run similar firmware.

It looks like it will do the job nicely, I'm just wary of buying sight/review unseen, especially given past feedback indicating software often lagging behind the hardware initially.

Hi, I recently bought the UltraPlus 900HD micro PVR and must say it gives very good results, being able to record 3 stations while watching or playing back a 4th is pretty good, although they do have to be on the same transponder, I am haveing some little problems which I am talking about on this forum under the the heading "UltraPlus  900HD micro PVR firmware v1.08.79 extra recording time not working"

Cheers Bryan

There is no issue and it was no issue about extra recording time using EPG before or after, you just need to go to recording option and choose the time you wish to extend , so easy is this . That will keep the name of the program as it is . Please don't use Seagate HDD at all , they all made for data and not even USB stick for recording as it is not USB 2.0. You need to use HDD as WD Elements or any other brand with high speed USB 2.0 . Please contact us if you have any other question or enquiry . Sorry we will not reply to any more questions in this forum as you need to read the manul carefully . Recommended S/W is 108.87  . Cheers

Seeing there will be no more replies from the distributor, I will lock this thread.

If anyone wants to use the aforementioned PVR, caveat emptor.
