I've just bought a Sommet Freeview HD box (SHDNZ3) from DSE Wyndham Street to give to my father. When I went to test it, the box appears to largely work okay except that when I try to view TV33, it freezes at "channel updating, please wait" and about a minute late, goes back to TV1. Once that happens, I will only be able to get TV1 and TV2, the rest of the channels (from TV3 onwards) will subsequently also get "channel updating, please wait". I have to power cycle the box, before I can get the other channels back. Going back to TV33 will result in the problem occuring again.

Has anyone encountered this problem (with trying to receive TV33 in Auckland) with this box and managed to resolve it? The other freeview HD TV in my father's house has had no problem receiving TV33.

Otherwise, Failing that, I'll return the box within the next few days. Does anyone have any recommendations on what other Freeview HD box to try (that is under $200)?

Many Thanks for any assistance.

It's less everywhere else...
But as an aside, make sure you get the latest firmware update, otherwise it'll fail to work properly when connected via HDMI.
Their Sat. boxes seem okay though.

Hi All,
Thanks for the replies. I took it back to DSE and got a refund (earlier in the week). Will have a look at the DishTV box.
