As the subject suggests, our freeview box goes black and white while watching TV. This happens after about an hour and the only way to fix it is to unplug the freeview box and plug it back in. Aside from being annoying, this of course stuffs up anything that may be recording at the time.

The odd thing is that recorded programs still record in colour and playback perfectly fine.

It is not weather dependent, it just happens between an hour to an hour and a half of perfectly fine colourful television.

Its about a year old I guess.

Any ideas?

I'd just call DTVS (the importer) on 0800 388765 and ask them. They've been helpful to me in the past...

great, thanks for that, he was far more helpful than i expected to be honest..

In case someone else has same issue and finds this thread, the fix is pretty simple:

AV+ button on remote
Scroll left/right until you get to "Video Format"
Change format to 576P

a lot of these boxes default to AV Format 576I, and the latest software update is not compatible.

So there ya go :)

576p? What model of television do you have it plugged into?
