Hi,
I have a Zinwell Freeview STB (ZMT-620HD) that has started being a bit odd.

Since a few days ago, every time I switch it on it displays a screen that says:
"Information
Software upgrading - please dont power off"

After around 10 seconds it just works as normal.

I havent changed any settings that I recall and I am pretty sure that there arent any OTA box updates - did a manual scan and couldnt see anything obvious.

Anyone else getting or had this?

freeviewfan: try resetting it to factory default

Did that - first time I restarted it same thing. "Software upgrading..."

Then it works as normal.

Something in it has triggered an update cycle - odd....

Have you tried factory reset AND disconnecting the power supply?
That worked for my HDT801S when it wouldn't finish scanning for channels and kept freezing up about 90% through and needing a reboot. Reset by itself didn't work. STBs can be really temperamental at times.

Some areas (Ngarara, Te Aroha, Hamilton, Kopukairua transmitters) are undergoing frequency changes this month; are you served by one of those transmitters? It could be related if so.
