it is Saturday evening (21:45 now) and none of TV One, Tv2 or TV3 display the HD logo, and the picture quality is definetely not as usual. On TV3 was Outrageous Fortune, which I am positive that it is usually HD, but no logo this time and as I said, picture is just slightly better than DVB-S.

Oh.. and EPG Guide could not create a TV schedule the whole day

any idea what is happening?

Its old outragous isnt it? Did they do HD from the start? NZ was really behind in getting HD facilities for things. Hell, shortland street has only just gone HD.

The earlier seasons of OF weren't shot in HD, but the ups-called picture on TV3 looked a lot better than the old analogue broadcasts.

I don't think TV3 ever displays an HD logo, does it?

Hi all,
that's right, TV3 does not display a HD logo.

I started the tread due to picture quality dropping significantly all of a sudden with no obvious reason from my side, actually Bones looks horible now as opposed to beautiful crisp picture before.

I did the mistake to run a windows update sometime last week and I believe Bill Gates messed my system big time. I will never EVER run an update anymore. The golden rule is "if it works, don't fix it". I broke the rule and now I am paying the price.

The update included Nvidia drivers update. After trouble started I rolled back the video drivers with no results.
Colours are all washed out (I will read some posts on this subject). If I play a BluRay disk, then colours are all beautiful so it is not the Tv, not the graphoc card and not the PC, but maybe the way MediaPortal decided to use the available resources (card, drivers, etc)?

could it be a setting somewhere which changed during the update?

Hmmm,

1.0.2 is a little old in the tooth - I don't remember what graphics settings it had very well, but double check that your MP codec settings are the same as they were before. I think the NVidia Purevideo codecs aren't particularly known for their image quality... at least the older versions anyway.
