dontpanic42: Added. :-)
timbosan: This isn't mean to be a rude question, but are they actually that many PlayTV users? I thought with the limitations of the guide data it's uptake wouldn't be that high?
Would be happy to be proved wrong on the feature set!

Yes heaps on, an average night checking "community Favorites" there are hundreds on.....makes a very interesting "people meter"

Wow, that's heaps! Is that just NZ people?
timbosan: Sorry to take it slightly off topic, but is the EPG complete? I.e. all channels and more than just "now and next", like 7+ days worth?
Jaxson:timbosan: Sorry to take it slightly off topic, but is the EPG complete? I.e. all channels and more than just "now and next", like 7+ days worth?
No it's not complete. No Maori or Prime (-is that correct?)
It get's the EPG info from the internet and it's at least 7 days worth ahead for the remaining channels.
If you buy the unit in NZ you get the EPG component for free.
If you have hardware from UK etc then you have to pay a 1 off fee to download the EPG bit.
If you don't get the EPG this way then you are stuck with the limited freeview HD/UHF EIT data now and next info.
If the PSN Network is offline, do you still get the EPG data? Not sure about this one.
wilt64: It is Prime and MediaWorks that are not complete
Jaxson:wilt64: It is Prime and MediaWorks that are not complete
So TIVO doesn't get Prime and Moari.
But PlayTV doesn't get any EPG for Prime, TV3, Four, C4 and TV3 + 1 ?!!!
That's extremely poor.

Correct, I don't understand why Prime and MediaWorks don't want their data on the EPG.......I would have thought it would be in their benifit to have it? particually concidering PlayTV has a "people meter"

This is one of the reasons I originally didn't get a PlayTV - it seems dumb on Sony's part to release a cool product with unique features (remote play) and they cripple it with no guide data for SOME channels.
Do you get "now and next" on Price, TV3 etc? Or nothing at all?
If there was a way around this I would seriously look to using my PS3 as a Freeview Tuner rather than my power hungry and loud HTPC, plus it's one less device.
