After watching these forums for a while, it seems every month or so someone posts that they have lost SBS reception, and wonders if perhaps SBS have turned off the NZ beam.
So last night we lost SBS, but Freeview still comes through strong, so I guess it's my turn to post.

Can anyone in Christchurch get SBS currently?

If it's just me, then what diagnostic steps should I take?

I have two HTPC's, a 60cm Sky dish and my LNB freq is 10750. I've had months of great SBS coverage on 12646V 12600SR, and the timing to lose it is terrible since I'm a huge cycling fan and am relying on SBS's Tour de France coverage!

At the moment Im hoping its just atmospheric.
When we had the severe weather the other night lost the last 18km of Stage 03.
Stage 04 was OK ... but Stage 05 didnt really get "stable" until around 30 km to go.

At the moment we've got a little bit of cloud cover and reception is again pretty poor.

Damn it. It does appear to have disappeared. SBS radio is also gone. 2RPH from Sydney still there. RABS tone still there at 99%.
So, I'm thinking this is not a temporary thing.

Is SBS HD also gone - also what is status of other Aussie HD channels? (Cant test here).

Oh ...... and damn it again.

Sorry typo on my part. I meant 12648MHz.

As I mentioned our coverage has been really great until last night, and now nothing. :(
Really hoping it's just atmospheric now multiple people are reporting issues. I realise SBS in NZ is just a bonus and shouldn't be relied upon, but it would be a big blow in our household if it went away :(

I set SBS up for the folks and got a call from them last night that it's not working for them anymore (Wellington).  Sheds a bit more light on the matter! Will keep an eye out to see if someone finds a fix or to let them know the news that its just not available anymore.

If you don't mind saying, roughly where are you?

Perhaps SBS reduced the power of the signal? seems unlikely, but the clouds don't look that bad to me from here, and I've never had a rain fade for anything longer than a minute or so in the past.

Just tried on my Vu+ Duo which used to get perfect SBS reception last time I tried it.  The sun is out here in the Far North, and this is what I'm seeing:

-  SBS HD SNR 39% AGC 86% with some pixellation, audio broken up

-  SBS 2 SNR 36% AGC 86% with very bad pixellation (pretty much unwatchable) audio very broken up

Something has definitely changed because these channels were perfect before.  Now they aren't worth watching quality-wise.

Hastings, SNR at 66%, no video, choppy (hardly any) audio.
I though the recent eq might have moved the dish...

Maybe the whole of NZ has shifted and we all need to realign our dishes :)

Well, I'm confirming No SBS here in Wellington on my Ultraplus 700HDMI hooked up to my SKY dish. (Not using SKY these days).
Was getting the Astralinks feeds for morning Aussie TV on 12673/7199.

So, are those in Wellington still receiving SBS finding it usable? On what freq? And on how big a dish?
