We moved into a house recently and set up our MySky as per usual. After noticing there were cables in the bedroom, we had the intention of setting up a freeview STB. But alas, when I did, it didn't seem to work. Here I was thinking "plug and play"
.The living room has the standard sky output, where we watch My Sky. In the bedroom, we have an aerial output (old, long up and down one, VHF?), and then a dual coax cable, set to come out next to a phone jack. (Am of the assumption that the previous owners possibly had Sky multiroom). Upon looking at the dish, there seems to be 3 coax cables coming from the LNB.
Bought a basic freeview approved STB from DSE and tried the channel scan and.....nothing.
After looking through the forums, am I having a power problem? i.e., is the sky box overpowering the freeview box? Admittedly, I was trying it while hubby was watcing sky, and never turned the skybox off.
Seems like it would just be simpler to split the cable before the skybox, but with the wiring already in place....would be nice to use it.
Any ideas appreciated, and apologies in advance if I am missing something completely obvious.
Cheers,

. Once I get back into town to pick another one up.........I'll try this again!
