When setting my Panny recorder via the EPG to record TV3, the same programmes were being set to record on TV3+1 without us knowing, though I suspect they weren't actually being recorded.

I sent off an email to Panasonic NZ via their website, they replied a couple of days later asking my address to send a firmware update to. I thought that was nice of them, they could have just directed me to download myself (then it has to be burnt to a CD), but I thought it was a nice touch to post it instead. So thought I'd post a nice story!

Good on you Panasonic NZ.

Here is the web link

But it'd be easier to update via the network connection.

It looks like Panasonic has a free BD rental promotion on their website for recent BDP/R purchases of the current models.

If connected to a network that is. (?)

Our JC Matthew box does the same thing.

A lot of this has to do with the package nature of the freeview official MHEG5 EPG.  The way that component behaves is quite independent of the rest of the unit.
