The Mother-In-Law in a far away town has managed to discover/enable the audio description service on her Homecast recorder. I have had a look through the manual, but nothing in there seems to specifically relate to enabling and/or disabling that option.
I am thinking that the options for controlling it will be in the same area as subtitles and other language options, but would appreciate any hints/help so I can talk her through turning it off.
As I myself don't have a unit at hand, I am hoping one (or more) of you good folk out there who do have one will be able to assist. Cheers.

It will just be a matter of changing the audio selection - I'm not sure on this actual unit but there must be a button for this. Will be a choice of 3 - dolby digital, AC3 English and Italian. 'Italian' is the one with the audio description on some shows.

OK - that makes sense. The opt button (according to the manual entry below) looks like where we need to go.

Opt Selects options such as Audio Language, Teletext Language, Subtitle
Language and Multifeed.

We should be able to find the correct option under that selection.
Just need to figure out with her if it is happening on Live TV, recordings, or both.

Hi,

You need to change the audio track. The one labelled "Italiano" is the one that has Audio Description. Use the "Opt" button to show the options menu. Press left or right button to find the "Audio" tracks available and then select the appropriate track and press OK to make the change.
