Just found a neat gotcha on the MagicTV 3700 (5.04NZ firmware).


Part way through the 6pm news tonight, I set my MTV3700 to series record the 6pm News on TV3. I then continued to watch 3News on TV3+1. Saw an article I wanted to record, so attempted to record the live program.  But the unit reported that I couldn't record it because it would be recorded at another time.
Note: the series record correctly recorded the last few minutes of 3News on TV3 and tomorrow it will correctly record the entire 3News, it was just today that I happened to want to record after setting the series record. 


I guess this is a situation particular to TV3 and TV3+1. I guess it's because the two channels use the same ID's for the programs, so that recorders can't really tell the difference.


Has anyone else seen this on other PVRs?
