I have Just lost all signal for all the channels I get off Optus D1, Freeview and SBS mainly. I realise that this is most likely a failure somewhere in my setup but just thought I would put the feelers out to see if anyone else is having problems before I jump on my roof to look at my dish.

What was your weather like. We had some serious rain last night and whilst Freeview channels were OK I lost SBS Australia.

D1 seems to have a weak signal here in lower hutt. My little reciever is having trouble locking on.Weather has been atrocious these last few days but have checked my dish and it is still pointed correctly. I have nothing else useful to convey. Cheers

Yeah I think it must have been the weather. It wasn't bad at the time but it closed in soon after. It was just weird that I was getting no signal at all. It was all back to normal the next day.

I had problems in Stoke, Nelson off and on November/December. I called Sky and they talked me through connecting to another satellite. No more problems. Sorry but I didn't take notice of the new satellite name.

Must be Optus D2, I noticed people down south require a another satellite which has been Optus D2. In use D1

Uhhhhm no.

Sky use D1 and C1.

D2 is another 18 or so deg off, and needs a 2 LNB holders or a separate dish. Which is how mysky can use 2 tuners and sats :)

I've got a D1, used to run it with Sky Digital, eventually got rid of it and bought a Freeview decoder, over the last week or so like every day at around 3PM it's just no signal, one minute working perfect and it just stops, rescan for channels, nothings there, not even a signal. Pretty random.

Potentially, sun reflection. Although it should effect many others too, check that its not almost directly pointing at the big red sucker.

The sun is shining to the left of the dish but miles away from being directly at it.

UPDATE:  Suddenly it's working again.

youll find it is the sky dual lnb has a drifting local oscillator, if the serial number on the LNB is 6A or 5A you can be sure its the LNB, usually worst in the heat of the day, im replacing 1 or 2 a day
