with this freeview box is there any way to watch other tv channels besides the ones on freeview?

have not tried it yet nana gave me the freeview box as she got sky

Certified Freeview or not?

Sorry. Didn't read the Subject line.
If it's a Hills Freeview Satellite box then I doubt it.
Will be Freeview only.

Hills boxes are locked down to freeview only, there is a way of doing it but it is a huge workaround

No its not.

In the menu, there is a setting "show non-freeview channels".

Turn it on and tune away.....
