Are the lights bright and colour rich in person?

That's our most important criterion! Closely followed by "How does it taste spit-roasted with a nice Tuscan red wine marinade?"

...No wait, that's pork.

Still, we played with them here quite a bit and they do the job nicely.

Will competition be located in 2D section or global?

No.

I was using it yesterday to feed my iPh4 and BigHammer's Desire, it worked well.

This looks great, it could make things a bit easier at work. Can you lock it down so it only works with authorised devices, ie so I can use it at work but no-one else can? Can you leave it plugged in so the battery life isn't an issue?

The device is WPA2 protected so only the people who know the key can connect.

Oh one more thing, could I put an XT or Vodafone SIM in, or is it locked to 2degrees? XT might be a better choice, given coverage.

You could use a Vodafone SIM, but the device does not work on 850MHz, so no XT.
