Call forwarding is not available on prepaid plans from any NZ carrier anyway. It's exclusively an on-account feature from carriers that offer on-account plans.

I use call forwarding regularly on my 2degrees prepaid number. That was actually a major driver for me to move back to 2degrees.

I stand corrected. That sounds like a very useful feature. I assume it uses up your credit when forwarding calls to other numbers?

Sure does! I don't like mobile voicemail. I forward calls to an offline VoIP number that goes to voicemail and emails me the mp3 instead. So handy. Also comes in handy when I'm travelling (although you can't forward to an international number unfortunately). Also yes, it does use minutes from the carryover combo - this is fine for me as I always have so many banked up.

Edit: added detail about minutes

It is provided you keep your pack renewing at least once a month. You just have to buy it in that period to be eligible for 1GB per month, every month

Says who? All I've seen so far is that for every $19 combo renewal before 4 September I get an extra 500MB which is pretty sweet. What happens after that? Do I keep getting the 500MB for each renewal after 4 September too?

Customers who get the 1GB during the promotion will continue getting 1GB after 4th September if they keep the Combo active. :)

Cheers

just cancelled my $29 prepay plan to switch to this combo.

^this - I wonder how many people will switch off the prepay plans...for $10 extra a month you get the glory of 200 min :\ seems out of balance now. Was going to switch across but it equates to no difference for me, as I am using the 10 credit on the internet/phone package...so it literally ends up the same...but still no differential or reason to go one way or the other...

It's carry-over data, too, so if the 2Degrees number is you "backup" you can soon find yourself with several GBs available.

I'm on the $39 / month plan and typically have about 8GB available thanks to the carryover. Very useful for watching Netflix in the hotel (via Chromecast on the Hotel TV) in the evening when working away. :-)

How do you make that work?  I'm guessing a 2talk 028 number?  How do you set up call forwarding to kick in instead of provider voicemail?

with 1GB data per month, do i still get my 500MB bonus data?

i believe so

just automatically renewed my combo today, no luck for the new deal.

called customer service and have been advised that's not the case.

For the new and old/loyal customers basically they will get the same amount of data (500MB+524MB) for the promotional period. frown

This has already been confirmed in the thread. I can't see what the problem is.

Yes I use 2talk, I have an 07 number hanging around I use (disconnected home phone number for historical reasons). An 028 will do the job just fine. I just go into the phone settings of my device and you can change the voicemail and busy numbers. They are network settings so once it's set, it works regardless of what device you're using or whether its turned on.

Then I just configure 2talk voicemail to forward to my email and that's it laughing

Quick question regarding auto top-up functionality.

I can either specify a date, or choose auto top-up when my credit is < $2.50.

If I have $25 credit after auto top-up, then my carryover combo renews, leaving me with $6 (which isn't going to trigger an auto top-up), then next time it tries to renew my carryover combo  and there is only $6 credit, will that trigger an auto top-up to ensure I maintain my carryover data?

I use a date normally about 5 days before the rollover plus I have a $20 buffer as well in case something goes wrong..

The incompatibility of auto top-up with value packs is a real PITA.  Destroys an otherwise extremely useful feature.

My current solution is to top up manually every three months -- the business pays for the phone, and the dairy in the ground floor of our building gives us GST receipts for prepay topups.

I've been in touch with 2degrees customer care through the phone, and they strongly suggested this is NOT the case and after 4th september I will be back to 500mb.... So which is it?

Hi @zonegeek

Sorry if there's been any misunderstanding, please PM us your number plus the date, time and number you called us on so we can speak to the agent concerned.

To reiterate, customers who buy or renew their Carryover Combo during the promotional period time (4th July - 4th September) WILL continue receiving the 524MB bonus for the life of their subscription to the Carryover Combo, as they keep the Combo active.

Cheers
