Have about 40 domains, both my own and clients.

InternetNZ is inceasing the  wholesale rate by $4, so all registrars are increasing by that, or more.

The Domain Name Company Limited (domain.co.nz) is only increasing $4+GST and will probably be the cheapest.  But really hard to find any reports about them good or bad.

Anybody with direct experience?

Seem to be owned by people in Singapore and Hong Kong, but have an NZ director so maybe run locally.

I just need registration and DNS control ideally with an import function for records/zonefile, nothing fancy.

Price isn't everything… If you want reasonably cheap and simple, but still more legit, I'd suggest something like https://myhost.nz/

I've been using them for 3 years and find them great. No idea what "DNS" is, I just email them and they do it for me

If they are selling .nz domains below or near the wholesale cost of $22 NZD ex GST per year I'd be skeptical they have a sustainable business model.

I guess they are relying on up selling a lot of those $99/year domain+email+web packages.

They have a much broader business than most NZ registrars. The homepage also lists corporate client services, securing expiring domains and a marketplace for selling domains. Companies house shows they've been running for 29 years

They've been around forever, I've used them a couple times, registering domains off the droplist. They seem fine, no issues to me.

We do always move domains out to Metaname though, I'll happily pay extra for their system and support.
