hairy1: Did you check out exavault? Similar to Dropbox but with a slant on what you want to do.


No i will take a look now.

I think Ive found a possible solution - CitrixShareFile ,its working great so far in my testing.

Ouch - Citrix ShareFile is $30/month for only 5GB of data transfer.

Mega.co.nz is free for 50GB of storage and unlimited transfer. Your customers can just create their own login, upload files and drag the files to your contact to make the files available in your account.

BitTorrentSync is a new very small and free application that synchronises folders between machines like Dropbox but without the cloud storage (fee and GB limits), transferring data directly between you and your customers. Set up a folder for each customer and just copy in files for each other. It uses the BitTorrent protocol internally but is completely secure, so more people sharing a folder improves performance. Each shared folder has a cryptographic key that both people must set up. It's still in beta but I've been using it since the very first alpha release and have never had any trouble.

I use Mega for all my one-off transfers to replace email attachments, and a BTSync folder for everyone involved in ongoing projects. I haven't added any files to my dropbox since starting to use these two.
