IcI:

SheriffNZ: ... There's a trailing dot with no www. or anything before it.

Line 2 might have a full stop at the end, but lines 3 to 7 also need a full stop after .google.com. Looking at michaelmurfy's screenshot, they should look like

  • aspmx.l.google.com.
  • alt1.aspmx.l.google.com.
  • alt2.aspmx.l.google.com.
  • alt3.aspmx.l.google.com.
  • alt4.aspmx.l.google.com.

Thanks, I've added the dot.

SheriffNZ: I emailed Metaname over the weekend and rang them on Monday but to date, I haven’t heard from them.

Did you end up hearing back from them? I had to log into my metaname account on the weekend to renew some domain names and I realised that for a company that I trust to host my domain names, they sure don't explain who they are, there's no blog, no social media links, nothing really to promote themselves at all. I've also dropped them an email - am keen to see if they respond.

Oh trust me when I say it is far from that. It is only a few guys running it and they're very good at what they do. They're very quick at implementing new features (one being DNS Privacy) and every time I've messaged them I've normally got a message back in a few minutes. It is odd they have not messaged back on this occasion.

There was one time also I had a domain that had a broken DNSSEC configuration - I didn't even know but they proactively messaged me informing me of this and fixed it for me.

It is really feature packed and a great company. They're also on here (ping @metaname).

Yeah, just to provide some further feedback, while I haven't heard back from them on this occasion, I went through metaname because of recommendations from geekzone members.

And Michael, thanks for coming back to me so late last night.

I got a reply back from my email pretty quickly. I still think they could do themselves a favour and be a little more active with a company blog or news page, Twitter account, etc. Right now if you look at their website you have no way of knowing if they are still actively operating or not. But I agree with other comments in this thread, the service is full featured and I've had no reason to lodge a support call in the past.
