Yeah just started getting a notice today in Inbox that it'd be retired in March 2019.

Made me realise the functionality that I like about Inbox (snooze, archive) is available in Gmail, except for creating reminders - for which I'll resort to creating calendar appointments.

Another vote for Outlook, but yes turn off the focused inbox option.

Lazy is such an ugly word, I prefer to call it selective participation

I never got into Inbox, I get hundreds of emails a day to my G Suite Enterprise account (many are automated notifications etc), meaning Inbox would never sort my email well.

I just use the Gmail Web client and Android App. I have maybe close to 100 filtering rules and use colour coded tagging religiously. Oh, and some of the labs add-ons too. The thought of going back to Outlook and folders is scary, but I can understand users who are new to Gmail or who haven't set automatic tagging or filtering rules would find the vanilla experience lacking for 2018.

First thing I always do when installing Outlook - turn off the focused inbox!

I could never get myself to like Inbox. But Gmail works fine for me. On PC I use Thunderbird. Have been using it for a long time and it just works. On Android I use Gmail and AquaMail.
