Work has a paid version of TV

TV releases a new version, you are left with an old version thats not compatible with newer versions

Its not cheap to ug to the new version . The old versions still work together, but its a real pain if the PC you are trying to TV onto has the newer version installed.

File transfers via TV are quite slow, OK if its a small file .

TV also has a Adroid & iphone app, thats really usefull for helping setup email on new phones, however on some phones

TV is veiw only . But thats often all you need .

Ive used Anydesk where TV wouldnt work (couldnt connect)

I've been using LogMeIn Central for years and it is very good. However they keep putting the price up and looking at the price of AnyDesk I might have to give that a try at the end of the LogMeIn sub.

I used LogMeIn for years until they moved their prices up to a point where it was no longer viable. Removed TV from my servers. Using the existing Pulseway accounts I already have.

Been using NoMachine for a while - plays nice with all os's, linux via hyper-v which was a huge issue for me but they tackled it easily. No complaints so far and the non-enterprise edition is free!

I used Parallels Access for a long time to access my computers at home from various work locations. I needed something web based that wouldn't get blocked by proxies or firewalls. Worked pretty well, but I ended up switching to using Apache Guacamole which I have running in a docker container. This gives me RDP, SSH and VNC connections over a web connection. Not sure if that works for your requirements though.

Other than cost, Teamviewer has started to complain when both users are not using the latest version. So its not longer a very userfriendly solution.

So was good to have this thread now, moving away from Teamviewer now.

Have been using Teamviewer for ages to look after family and friends computers.

After reading this thread I have tried Anydesk on several Windows computers... Very pleased.

The Anydesk Android UI when accessing a Windows computer is heaps better than Teamviewer.

Been using TV free for years but as @jarledb & @1101 said issues arise when one of the users (usually the client in my case) has an older version.

I've not tried AnyDesk however I've seen good things posted about it from users on reddit & Spiceworks. Will def be looking into that as an alternative.

I'm a Teamviewer user and had a quick look at Anydesk. The one thing that "seemed" to be missing is a list of computers you have this installed on like Teamviewer presents you so you don't have to setup direct connections etc.

On my Anydesk I see a list of Recent Sessions Icons... Hopefully the list does not dissappear.... Active computers show a green tick and unpowered computers show a red dot...

OH this is some good info on this thread. I don't use teamviewer a lot but I've come up against this version problem recently too. I often use teamviewer at home to do something on my file server which is out in the garage. Does anydesk run over a local network? I'm not too sure if it matters or not, but curious.

I use splashtop or parsec.. Both offer great performance even via the internet. Splashtop is more commercial and rounded, with easy switch between windowed and full screen, Parsec is built more for gaming and so can take full control of the mouse as if it was local.
