Sitehost.  I shifted 300 domains from openhost.  Have not looked back.

Keep an eye on your credit card. I got billed recently for Openhost recently for a domain that had been transferred to Crazy Domains last year.

Yup, would not trust Openhost with Anything, the crap they put ex webdrive customers though is totally inexcusable.

I think CrazyDomains and OpenHost are owned by the same people now, and I have a feeling they have merged the platforms, that might be where the billing issue come from.

Personally I would stare clear of both.

Sitehost have been excellent.

I use Namecheap and GoDaddy for some domains with exotic extensions, they have been fine.

I'm finally making the move from Umbrellr/Discount Domains (I moved hosting from Freeparking years ago and never looked back), and Metaname looks like a good option.

A question for those who already use Metaname: do they support different billing contacts for different domains? The domains I look after are spread across about four different organisations who should pay the renewals themselves, rather than reimburse me.

Not AFAIK.

Something you can do with Metaname though is just set up managed accounts (so set up a login for them, and set "Managed By" as your main account ID):

This will then allow you to just manage other accounts from your main account. You may also need to email Metaname to get this option enabled if it doesn't exist for you.

Not fully ideal, but is handy instead of having to login to multiple accounts and that way keeps the billing relationship with the client.

Metaname. Have a couple hundred domains with them and wouldn't use anyone else.

1stdomains support is really lacking. I believe it's been outsourced overseas as it used to be really good.

Stay far far away from anything CrazyDomains - this includes FreeParking, OpenHost and Discount Domains. Almost every domain issue we have to deal with is through one of these brands and it's like pulling teeth to get it fixed.

Never had a problem with metaname, and when I did, the support was fast and to the point.

Moved a client's two domains from FreeParking (aka Crazy Domains) to our registrar.  Several days/weeks later their portal was still saying it was active in their system and required renewal which then triggered the redundant automated emails and a stressed client.
