Embed the target site in an iframe, make sure to look up the version of code so you don't end up with double scollbars.

Please never do this. It is not a good solution.

Mmm, allowing your content to be iframed. A way to say you don't care about security without actually saying that.

I don't know @yitz but I'm pretty sure that was meant as a joke.

Probably not since that is exactly how the "redirects but keep your domain showing" crap works on DNS providers that are overstepping the mark with what they are selling to people leading to this sort of confusion.

If you are using Cloudflare, you could always proxy the domain you want to redirect FROM and have it issue you SSL/TLS Certs automatically then set a redirect

Using Cloudflare is not a bad solution. BUT, this is a band aid for the web developer / host not setting things up correctly.

I know why you're saying this, and I kind of agree with you. But using Cloudflare for this type of situation is not really a band-aid. It's a solid solution and there's nothing wrong with the approach.

Thank you everyone for your thoughts.  We've gone back to the web developer and he's accepted our recommendation of a new certificate to cover www and non-www access to the site.
