Hi maknz,

Last time I've checked, domains4less, was not able to perform a simple task of providing custom DNS names, plus their response was rude and slow.

For fully supported services and respect towards customers, try RealHosting services.

Is that based on your personal experience with them? You may want to read your terms, as it is littered with spelling mistakes and grammatical errors.  Not sure if self promoting your own company by posting your services is permitted in these forums, I could be wrong though.

Looks like another hosting direct reseller, from a traceroute. Their menus look like those that are on the net24 website.

We don't usually allow companies to self-promote on first post (which RealHosting did), but they did come back and answer some questions.

But I'd ask not to diss competitors. Let other users discuss without putting this in the mix.

So, like a judge: please disregard RealHosting's last comment about Domain4Less.

From my own experience I can tell you domains4less offer full DNS management via their control panel.

Admitedly I haven't needed much in the way of support, but as domains4less = webdrive (correct me if I'm wrong here?), I'd be really surprised if support wasn't top notch.

PS. I'd advise anyone to avoid dealing with any business which doesn't plainly list their full contact details on their own website.

I hate to say this but you are correct (the part about domains4less = webdrive) Smile

To their credit they didn't pretend to be an anonymous user (astroturfing) which is nice to see for once.

They appear to be different companies, although they appear to be run by the same people. Domains4less appears to be a domain reseller of Domain Agent. From what I have found Domains4less = OpenHost = Webbase. Not sure if there are any others.

Good spotting - to confirm, Webbase and Openhost are both listed on the acquisitions page on WebDrive's site.

I was reading through this topic and I felt like having my say.

@Robbyp: "Is that based on your personal experience with them?"

YES

I am not affiliated with any hosting company or anything, and I know you were reffering to the realhosting dude, but I would like to say that I'm an ex-domains4less customer, and I can confirm that they are not able to provide custom name servers, the dude from realhosting is right.

I've moved ayaway from them because of that reason and I am NOT impressed with the limited settings they provide for customers. I am now with DiscountDomains and never looked back (as in domain registrar services).

My 2 cents, this is a fact and it's verifiable.

Not sure what company you're using but d4l offer user friendly name server modifications and DNS record management from a separate web panel. You could always move your DNS elsewhere, such as Afraid.

I lol at your self promotion.

Hello maknz,

With all due respect, I am not here to provide education for you, however I will take the time and explain:

 - In the post above, I was reffering to CUSTOM NAME SERVERS, not NAME SEVER MODIFICATIONS (as in pointing the name servers to your hosting provider), - which are 2 different things (damn, I thought this is a forum for geeks, not for amateurs!).

Also, for Rganor (the post above with screenshot): I don't know what plan you have with d4l, but when I was with them, I ceirtainly did not have that screen - all I had was a simple panel (and I mean REALLY SIMPLE) - with no choice to provide custom name servers. I wrote to them and their replay was literally: "We do not provide that type of service" (and yes, I've kept the email as I thought it was amazingly rude). And that was all. No "Hi", and no "We are sorry". Just one line for a PAYING customer.

I am not saying your screenshot is fake, no offence, this is my experience with d4l - and saying otherwise it's like pissing in my ear and telling me it's raining. And that was 7 days ago.

Actually if they ask you to do that, they will set that up for you, at least you can with Web Drive, which uses the same control panel.
