Hey everyone.
I'm wanting to launch a couple of my websites, one is a blog I want to have on it's own site and another is just for articles and reviews etc. I could probably launch under same domain.. Expecting medium amount of traffic.

Just wanting to know the best budget place for domain hosting and cheapest place to purchase a domain.

Thanks in advance,
Milet

I've used hostgator and godaddy so far this month for a couple of new clients, & so far so good

For co.nz domains: I would avoid domainz.net.nz (had dealings with them this week and no reply, plus they are waaay too expensive! $61.87?! Are kidding me?!?!?! Their interface for your domain once you've got it is simply terrible too), I've used 1stdomains.co.nz for my own and so far so good (plus fairly cheap, relatively speaking).

Your main page seems strangely familiar for some reason.

Looks to be a wordpress or joomla template. I would recommend going with a host who has been around for at least 3 years, as web hosts come and go, and you want one that you know will still be there tomorrow. Many students setup hosting companies to supplement their income, and they just resell other web hosts services, and they lack the experience or time to provide support.

realhosting.co.nz traces back to Chicago.... so Id assume there :)

Not that its a bad thing, my provider is US based, pings arent bad and I havent had any issues... except when my ISP intl connectivity dies (which i cant remember if it ever has - go Orcon :-p )

Every man and his dog can buy some reseller hosting from a host in the US, then install something like whmcs to manage/resell it.

There is nothing wrong with hosting in the USA, as long as their servers are powerful and good quality, and they are not overloading their server with thousands of accounts, which many cheap hosts have to do. Hosting in the US does also have the advantage that your website loads pretty well whether you view it in the world. I have found websites hosted in NZ load quite slowly when viewing them while I was in the UK, but that could be the ISP.

To be fair, we are geographically very far apart Smile

Hi all,

Thanks for your input - it's really nice to see such a great interest in RealHosting.

To answer your questions:

- Our servers are located in Chicago indeed
- The frontend of the website it's pure HTML, no WordPress and no Joomla (or any other script - again, thanks for your interest)
- For those who are making recommandations and judging a service/product without trying it; Please purchase one of our plans and see for yourself. You can always register without buying anything - and get a "feel" for our hosting services before buying.
- We are not students, and we are providing full qualified support.
- Unlike many web hosting providers, we are providing you with full control on your account at decent prices.
- "Slow" does not associate with our server speeds - like I said, register for free, and try it.
- Yes, we are proudly using the WHMCS and cPanel to empower our customers with the best tools to manage their accounts.

Again, thank you for your interest, and I hope to see you on RealHosting

Highly recommend http://www.domains4less.co.nz for a domain.

Most NZ hosting is expensive and you don't get very much for your buck (these costs are justified, bandwidth is dearer, less competition for datacenters etc). You might be better off getting hosting in the US from Dreamhost or Hostgator etc.
