given that the support for that is pretty poor, you are typically better off finding a different solution.

How is support for it pretty poor? All the major browsers/OSes support it..

its not supported on Windows XP, and Windows Mobile phones prior to 7, or on IIS web servers.  Given the combined market share of all those clients/servers, that adds up to pretty poor support.

regs. it's not necessarily about the termination fee's per se, but the fact we have call group rates and I would not only need to take my internet away from them but the line as well as I understand our setup is dependent on the number of lines with them.

Multiple Domain names won't help as I understand it as I want to run multiple connections to the same port numbers on multiple servers. IE I have 2 servers I need to make a connection to port 443 to.

can you tell us what it is you're trying to publish?  perhaps there might be other options/workarounds.

Hi There!

Essentially I have a number of completely seperate services which run on ssl which cannot be put on the same server and who's ports can't be changed, amoungst other identical types of conflicts with ports.

I think the easiest thing to do is to simply just get a (second) naked DSL connection which will solve my requirement for a second ip, and I just need to find an entry level product since speed/traffic requirements aren't huge. Who are the most competitive providers of naked dsl available in AKL please?

I see unleash offer multiple IP's with their ADSL connections!

i've had responses from the following list of ISP's, or people who are using the following ISPs, when i asked the question on multiple IP's via xDSL in the past. You could start by contacting some/all of these.

www.callplus.co.nz
www.iconz.co.nz
www.maxnet.co.nz
www.solarix.co.nz
www.unleash.co.nz
www.xtreme.net.nz

(in alphabetical order)

there are a couple of ways you can get the extra IP's. You can get apublically routeable subnet hosted on your xDSL router, or you can have a single IP with additional IP's routed to it (assuming you have a capable device, like a cisco).

if these services cann all run off of the same subdomain - e.g. *.mydomain.co.nz - then you can use an advanced firewall/proxy like the Microsoft ISA/TMG product.  To do this you set up a single SSL listener with a wildcard certificate and you create web publishing rules to split the request to different internal servers based on the host portion.  The SSL channel is then established between the client and the ISA/TMG server, then a second SSL channel is established between ISA/TMG and the host web server (or you could choose to traverse the network between ISA and web server as HTTP)

some firewall devices can do the same sort of thing, but i'm not sure which ones.  check with your vendor to see if it is supported on your firewall

Unleash may be a spot more expensive, but we are quite flexible on things, offer excellent customer support and awesome speeds on all our ADSL plans. There is no filtering of any type, no traffic shaping, low latency service is what we offer which makes it great for hosting your own content from your home/business.

If you have server(s) with us also, we can zero-rate this on any Unleash connection, meaning backups or anything don't get charged against your cap. I believe we are almost the only ISP that offer this in NZ (correct me if I am wrong)

We are based in Christchurch, our call-centre is based in Christchurch, and we don't "outsource" anything. When you phone us you will get the level of support you want, your problem will be resolved quickly etc.

Hi There!

I requested some information via email, but then embarrassingly found the pricing information in a earlier post you made in this very thread. (Why is this not on your website?).

Ah right, we are re-working our website at the moment, but this should be on our website next week (fingers crossed I can motivate the guy that deals with it) - Saw your email, all replied.
