Latest update from Microsoft

More info: Initial reports indicate that impact is specific to the Outlook client and users with access to other protocols, such as Outlook on the web or the Outlook mobile app, can view message content in those platforms as a potential workaround.

Current status: We're continuing to analyze recent updates to the environment and the associated code as we work to isolate the cause of impact. Our efforts are focused on determining the most expedient means of remediating this issue.
Scope of impact: This issue could affect any user attempting to view an email message in the Outlook client.

Yes, noticed on 5+ users this morning.  We are running the following to resolve till a fix is announced.

"C:\Program Files\Common Files\microsoft shared\ClickToRun\officec2rclient.exe" /update user updatetoversion=16.0.13901.20462

The above recommendation worked perfectly for us, as well.  Thanks for sharing!

Amazed to have found this so quickly. Having the same issue here in the US. Only one user so far, but we're at end of day here. So, I'll keep tuned here for updates.

I have the same issue MS Outlook only showing the first line of the body of an email

Interestingly “Read Aloud” reads all the email – even the part which is not visible

andrewNZ: Anyone got anything resembling a workaround yet?

We tried forwarding an email to someone unaffected and the content simply isn't there.

Client rollback as per Reddit

"C:\Program Files\Common Files\microsoft shared\ClickToRun\OfficeC2RClient.exe" /update user updatetoversion=16.0.13901.20462

Fix worked here too.

Just think at Microsoft today, someone, somewhere is getting fired.

Hi

I have started experiencing this problem today.  I thought it was to do with a recent update to Windows 10 but I'm not sure that's the case.  I went into Office 365 and updated to the latest office version and this didn't fix the issue.  I first noticed the issue around 21:00 GMT.  It manifests itself in two ways.  Some emails show no text except the title and other show the first line only.  This is very frustrating.  I have the issue on two PC's using two different Office 365 accounts.  Fortunately I can use the web outlook for my office account, but my home account is setup as POP3 so as soon as i open outlook the server copy is removed.  I see MS has recognised the issue.  I hope they fix it pronto

Man, I am so sick of bearing the brunt of the lack of QA at MS. Anyone else sick of being part of the worlds largest Beta testing program?!
