Hi,
I'm working for a small IT company, our network consist of a single HP Proliant server running Windows SBS and a Cisco SRP500 router.
We are looking for someone to help configure our router and/or server to access some services via VPN and an public IP address.
Thanks,
Atis

We are running JBoss and some services written on top of them and we have a few issues when using the VPN.

I tried to figure out today myself what is exactly happening in our network.
It seems, that the router runs the DHCP, DNS and VPN, the hp SBS 2011 server is the domain controller.
It has IP of 192.168.1.2. The DHCP is from .100
One issue is, that if someone logs in to the VPN from outside, the servers IP is 192.168.1.201, but after about 5 mins it changes to 192.168.1.2.  I checked the VPN settings on the router, couldn't find anything meaningful...

Just want to say I am making some massive assumptions about 1. your environment, 2. what you are trying to achieve.

If you are using the VPN services on the SBS Server (RRAS) you the server will have 2 addresses:

192.168.1.2 and a dedicated Remote Access Address (from the sounds of it 192.168.1.201).

Name resolution (e.g. ping server) will usually return the addresses in round robin fashion.

To make life simpler I would create a DNS record on your server for webservice.yourdomain pointing to the 192.168.1.2 address and use that to access services.

In that environment I would also recommend moving all network services (DHCP, DNS, WINS) to the SBS server.

Nothing overly complicated in your situation, but from the sounds of it you don't have the skillset to manage this. Who put it in in the first place? Do you have any existing IT Support?
