Hi all,

I'm looking for recommendations for hosted Exchange providers in NZ. I have a client that is looking to move to a hosted Exchange environment, and although I would normally recommend using Office 365, this particular client has a definite requirement for a catch-all (wildcard) email address. Also, Google Apps isn't an option - needs to be Exchange.

I thought you could have a rule with O365 that if it doesn't match any address it goes to a catch all?

The local gold certified microsoft partners like: OneNet, Intergen, Datacom all seem to provide reputable hosted exchange services.

It will be expensive....

I still don't think you can as their spam filter uses recipient filtering to reject messages that are sent to non-exist mailboxes.
No way to get around it.

I found a workaround that will let me use Office 365 for this client. I checked out many of the local providers and wasn't impressed with any of them.

I figured out a solution for the catchall address with the help of the excellent phone support that Microsoft provides. In Office 365 you can change a domain to "Shared" mode, and in this mode Office 365 can be configured to send any unrecognised emails onto another email server. So now I just need a second server that can accept all emails and drop it into a single mailbox. I'll probably use Google Apps for this.

Try Windows Live domain admin center. It's also free.

That may be free but it's certainly not easy to use.
