Hi All,

Wow it has been a while since I posted a question here!

I was just wondering if anyone has recommendations for a DNS provider I can use to manage 10-15 sites or so. DynDNS, godaddy..etc? any preferences?

I need DNS only with no hosting packages.

Apologies if this has been discussed before. Point me in right place if so.

I used Dyn (paid service) but you can use Cloudflare for free for DNS.

Many registrars will provide this with the domains . You may want to use a NZ one. Alspo depends if you want support. I find overseas support pretty poor with canned replies for hosting, compared to NZ ones.

Thanks Mauricio, will check cloud flare out. For Dyn, any idea which package could suit best? Their website is a bit confusing! if my understanding is correct, the DNS standard /year subscription only allows 1 domain and others are monthly subs?

@mattwnz I could use the registrar but their service isn't flexible and provides limited number of entries so i'm considering other options

I think Chris021 has a DNS only plan on his NZ based servers. 1c.co.nz

I've been hosting my sites and DNS on his servers for a few years now. Very happy.

Looks pretty ok. But if NZ based servers are importan, then 1c.co.nz better keep their NZ server running all the time, because the secondary DNS is in the middle of the US

I think I would have opted for a third nameserver in NZ if I had anything to do with the service.

Do you have a budget if you want to use NZ DNS ? Also how many entries do you need for your zone files?

I use Route53 AWS

$0.50 per hosted zone / month for the first 25 hosted zones

Pretty good value
