So the tickets have been on sale for a while, the event is in just over two months.

Who has their tickets already, who's planning on it, and who is still sucking up to the boss?

And, who do you reckon will be the TechFest headliner this year?

Hoping to be there but we're in one of those "save money" periods at work and haven't heard either way! I've been to the last six so it's been a good run...

Depends if Juha can squeeze his informants.

I hope to be going, work has tickets, but hasn't assigned them to individuals yet. I need a new backpack - the kids stole mine from the last two years, I'm stuck using the messenger bag one from 2010.

We shared three tickets between six people last year, which worked out alright but had to scrap over the
goodies.  Look slike we're not going this year though: corporate money saving drive and a glacial training approval process

I was just offered something nice to giveaway on Geekzone, and asked Microsoft to bundle with something of theirs... So I will post here on Geekzone and tie with my presence on TechEd - like "if you see me on TechEd and do something then you get extra points".

It's worth it :)

i'll be going.

If you're one of the people going, please make sure you choose your sessions via the online schedule builder. thats the only way the organisers can figure out what the demand is for sessions ahead of time. if two sessions clash, add them both!

if you dont use the online schedule builder, dont complain if the session you turn up to is full, or if there are two 'must see' (for you) sessions on at the same time.

p.s. the headline acts were announced today:

We are proud to announce that we have The Adults coming to perform at TechFest!

The Adults are headlined by Shihad singer Jon Toogood, supported by a large and varied cast of prominent New Zealand musicians. For 23 years, Toogood has been at the helm of the mighty Shihad, a New Zealand rock institution that has consistently delivered churning riffs and soaring melodies over eight studio albums and eight EPs. Shihad continue to be one of the most ferocious live acts in the country, and their two decade-plus career was recognised at the 2010 NZ Music Awards where they were ushered into the New Zealand Music Hall of Fame.

Toogood will be accompanied by Shayne Carter (Straight Jacket Fits, Dimmer), Aaron Tokona (Cairo Knife Fight), and Steve Bremner (percussionist with the New Zealand Symphony Orchestra and Auckland Philharmonia Orchestra).

We also have progressive indie rock band, The Phoenix Foundation! This talented band was formed in Wellington and is now award winning, for example taking the title of Best Group during the 2010 NZ Music Awards!

I was just wondering if there was any chance that a generous company would like to sponsor me for a ticket to TechEd?
I know that there isn't much of a chance but it doesn't hurt to ask.

I am a Web Developer and have always wished that I could afford a ticket to TechEd, however the price is just too high and cannot afford it unfortunately. Maybe someone has a ticket and no longer can attend?

Hmm 1 ticket granted to a team of 8. Don't think I will even bother scrapping over who gets which session.

There must be good cause for MS to review the attendance types and costs for this event, maybe we could convince (mis)management to allow us all to attend a few key sessions without paying for the entire event.

Awesome. We've gone from a high of 18 attendees a few years ago down to 5 this year. Fortunately I got a ticket but it took a while!

I'll definitely be there, ticket and accomodation signed & sealed.
Not sure if the sessions are quite as compelling as last year, but I live in hope.
Looking forward to seeing The Adults as well.
