Hey guys,

I am looking for someone who knows the ins and outs of the NZ Government SaaS 'cloud' security requirements. If you know anyone in Wellington I would appreciate it!

You should talk to the GCSB or any partner involved with AOG

No...they will forward your request onto their bosses - one of the American spy agencies for comment ;-)

The privacy commissioner has a guide to cloud computing pamphlet which seems to be widely used.
We host online backups for many clients around hawkes bay, and soon will also have a government offering. Lawyer clients have all presented us with the pamphlet as a challenge to my sales skills - to which i say HaHa your colleague across the road challenged me with it yesterday which we passed its requirements.

Anyhow that would be where i would start.
There are also a couple of organisations which i cant remember what they are called but they are trying to create a heart foundation approval tick equivalant for cloud service providers. I looked at the website and their complicated guidelines and decided to not bother as it just seemed like it wouldnt really give the recognition needed.

Its mostly geared to cloud applications such as xero / freshbooks type applications so would probably work for you as a starting point.
