Dont know if anyone has figured this out yet...

One way to save money with godaddy ( with no spend limit ).

Procedure :

  • find a domain
  • add it to cart
  • proceed to checkout
  • Get onto the final screen (last step before it uses your creditcard / paypal)
  • DONT pay for the domain.
  • DONT logout of GoDaddy.
  • Close the browser or website...don't revisit the site until you get the email
  • wait
  • wait some more..
  • you will receive a "Complete your order and save 30%" email.
  • Use the coupon code provided in your email.
Seems like its worked twice this week for me, only purchased 2 domains on separate days.

Would be good to know if this works for someone else.

Or you could google search for godaddy coupon code. I've never paid their advertised pricing and often save in excess of 70%.

GoDaddy has heaps of codes, all easy to find.

They even do a birthday/signup code which ends up being something like "Oct123"  guess what "Nov123" works in November

RetailMeNot is your best friend for discount voucher codes. For any number of websites, products, and services.

A quick search on GoDaddy brings up….

I use name.com for my non-nz domains.
Same prices, lots of discount codes and good CLEAN management.

Name.com looks good I'll have to try that out sometime, I've been using Hover recently for .com's, (will also be coupons around for them)
GoDaddy is pretty good for wildcard SSL certificates etc though and that's where those 30% off vouchers are awesome

I just use Metaname for everything, works well and I don't mind paying a local NZ company a few extra dollars.
