I've put together a website using Squarespace 6 which is meant to be one of the easiest and most comprehensive Content Management Systems to use. I'm sure it is, but the problem is me. I'm just hopeless at trying to get the detail stuff working, e.g. linkage to Facebook, Twitter, Linked-In, etc, etc. Never mind the thought of trying to set up e-commerce on the site.

Does anyone here have any experience of Squarespace? All the Help consultants and advisers who Squarespace recommend are based in the US - though there are a couple if Oz.

Or is there someone who could metaphorically 'hold this old geezer's hand' to help me work through it all?

I would have thought there would be great need for someone to offer this sort of service because there must be hundreds of folk like myself who struggle with this sort of thing. I contacted Need-a-Nerd on their chat line today and they just said they don't do anything to do with web design/build. Most web designers/builders in NZ seem to use Wordpress and I've not found anyone with any experience of Squarespace.

Maybe something for a young gun to look at?

Any help would be much appreciated.

(PS. the website is www.thesoulstate.com)

Why are you using it? Who says it is one of the easiest and most comprehensive systems? That sounds more like wordpress.

Thanks for your reply.

At the time I was doing this (May-June) Squarespace pretty well topped out in all the online reviews of CMS's. Also, it was the 'easiest to use' (but as I say that's not taking account of me!) and their hosting fees were very reasonable. I had looked at/tried Wordpress but couldn't manage that at all.

It's not the software that's the problem ...

I use it to run our web site and generally speaking it's very easy to use. I've also set someone else up with them which took about 2 hours for a reasonable looking site.

I don't believe that ecommerce will work in NZ yet as they use Stripe(?) which is available in AU and the US but I'm not aware of them being here yet.

Let me know what you're trying to do and I don't mind trying to help out.

Thanks for your help and offer Klathman, but I think I've found someone local who has experience with Squarespace and we've started to work on it.
Once again, many thanks.

Very happy with my square space site, although It's simply just my portfolio website with categories of different portfolio images + contact page, so no complex things like e-commerce etc
