I feel sorry for them - hate to think of all the places the name is included in source code for Windows 8, client apps, web sites...

OneDrive sounds kinda dumb - at least is wasn't AzureDrive or CloudDrive.. or Drive 365

I'd like to see a new release fixing synchronisation bugs. That'd be better than a new name. But since a new name is mandated because they lost a lawsuit...

why do you think it took so long to announce?  Testing

find & replace. SkyDrive -> NewDrive -> OneDrive ;)

It isn't, sky drive is good becuase it tells you where it is stored. Onedrive doesn't. Skydrive is as good s name as icloud, as both tell you it is cloud storage in it's brand. Onedrive doesn't.

I'm hearing that some loyal OneDrive (SkyDrive) customers have got a code for an additional 20GB of free OneDrive (SkyDrive) storage for a year.. Does that mean we get one as well?

I have been using the same Hotmail account created in 1995. It's the same account I had in my Windows Phone 7, Windows Phone 8 and didn't get the 20GB round a couple of months ago. I also don't think I will get the OneDrive round (being pessimist).
