I am currently looking for a solution for a few different companies to provide workflow and process management.

My ideal would have been an opensource solution with a good API.
The problem I seem to be having is either they are very specialised to one particular aspect or industry, or they try to cover everything and end up convoluted and often particularly ugly.

As a compromise the most suggested options seem to be WorkFlowMax, ProWorkFlow and Harvest, but there seems to be very few objective comparisons.
There is a lot of people that testify X is amazing now my life is easy. but very few X is good at 1 and Y is good at 2 and her is why.

Currently I am using the free trials but without lots of data and users and time its not the easiest to tell.
