We have just upgraded from IE6 to IE8 (dont ask or question that as the new build is being designed at the moment and its not my decision on that side of things)
our computers are only connected to the intranet so there is no real risk of people downloading things they shouldnt.
When internet explorer is opened you either receive the page below or just the little banner accross stating "your security setting level puts you computer at risk" you can click the banner and get IE to fix it for you. The problem is if you log off, and use another computer you will get the warning again, same deal if you go back to your original computer. It happens for all users and on all computers.
Now if you clnick fix and then log off then log back in you generally wont get the warning.
Its more a frustration thing but id like to get rid of the warning message, and ive been on Google and tried a couple of things but haven't found anything that works.
Ive read up on the Gpedit on the local machine to change the setting for the warning bar, ive also read adding the new DWORD into the disablesecuritysettingscheck folder in the registry and they didn't work but im not sure if i did it right as the webpages were not talking about domains with group policies.
We use Group Policy's managed from the DC but having a look not a lot in there is actually configured
Anyone got any thoughts on what i can do to removed the warning messages
