I've currently got my internal CA on Server 2008 R2 and my WSUS on Server 2012. My WSUS server is a shambles and RDP via the RDGateway is glitchy on 2012 (so far on R2 servers it has been fine). So I plan to combine these servers on a single host (both still remaining internal only), is this a no-no or an acceptable combination of roles? (they have different web app context so not expecting a clash in IIS)

Technically I don't see why it can't be done, but as best practice I would say it's a no-no.

CA's should be stand-alone and secured as best as they can be, IMO.

That's what I was thinking, maybe even a core deploy.
