I signed up for additional Google storage (US$1.99 for 100GB). As part of that process a Google Wallet signup was compulsory. So, now my credit card details are stored in Google Wallet for as long as I want this plan to auto-renew. Auto-renew is not a big deal. The real purpose of Google Wallet is storing these details for use with the purchase of anything with a 'Buy with Google Wallet' button on it. That feels a little weird. I wanted some storage and and I end up with a wallet as well.

This is all new to me so I'm curious to hear about the Google Wallet experience and buying process.

Maybe there is nothing more to it than adding yet another reason to remember to sign out.

I use Google Wallet for occasional purchases from the Google Play store, and have done for about the past year.  It's convenient not having to enter my credit card details each time, and so far, I've had no problems with it.  That said, I do keep a close eye on my credit card statement, which paid dividends a week ago when our local Chemist overcharged me for some photo prints.  It was $30 more than it should have been, so just goes to show that errors can happen with over-the-counter transactions, not only online ones.

Love it, personally. So convenient, just like Steam remembering my billing details.

So if you go to a site where you have not used Google Wallet before - eg Joe's Exercise Equipment - what payment related info do you have to provide (if any) before your first purchase goes through on clicking a 'Buy with Google Wallet' option?

Theoretically none, although I haven't used a 3rd party site, so I cannot say for certain.

In the Google Play store, it just pops up a window with the total amount and "charge to credit card ending in ****" then you click to confirm the purchase.  Easy as.

You can have the option for a password every time too.

I've been using it since.... I have no idea , I've had androids for the last 6 years, so probably when it started. I also have extra drive storage, google play music all access, chromecast, chromebook, nexus 7s (plural). lol

Can anyone name a 3rd party site (not app) that supports purchasing using Google Wallet? I might go try it out.
