Just back from Sydney where I was a guest of Symantec for the opening of their new office and Security Operations Centre in Sydney. Some photos from the event and the new control centre, one of five around the world... More information here.

Is there a smoke machine going in the third photo from the bottom, or just the lights? Cool to see this opening in Sydney

Just the position with light reflecting on a blue wall.

They now have around 375 working in Sydney. The centre is used to monitor and provide incident response as well as manager the new Security Simulation Platform.

Pretty cool stuff being done there.

You may have heard the term Security Theater - the new Symantec Security Operations Centre gives you the chance to experience the whole show, lights and all.

*cough*

They also use this centre for their managed operations - cloud backup, end point management, etc. It's a bit more than your usual "Norton Antivirus" stuff.
