Has anyone else had issues registering a domain name that they have the preferential registration for with crazydomains?

I paid for (or so I thought) two years registration on a .nz domain name.  I have checked with anyname.nz and I am the only one who holds an eligible domain (which is registered with crazydomains) - hence the PRR.

I've been told I have to wait until April 2015 for the name to become eligible for me to be able to register it!  Grrr!

I see other people who are with different registrars already have their .nz names active (geekzone being one of them).

That is incorrect, as long as it is showing PRR. March 2015 is the date that anyone else can register it, but if you wait until then, you may lose it.  Transfer it somewhere else.

Can you quote exactly what CD said to you?

Marjori G the "Customer Care Agent" stated: "The last date will be March 30 2015"
I said no
Marjori G: "You can have this domain"
I stated "I'm not waiting that long"

That is part of the voice call verbatim!

There is much more to the call, but to cut a long story short she said the domain team would need to look in to it!

I suspect they didn't understand because it is an overseas company with an overseas call centre where English isn't their first language. However if you own the a.co.nz domain, you can register the shorter .nz domain if you have PRR rights, and it should be active as soon as you have paid. If you are having problems contact the domain commissioner. They are just a reseller but they will contact the registrar involved, which I believe owns the reseller anyway. I transferred all my domains away from them because they don't process transactions in real time and the support wasn't good, and there were technical problems with their control panels.

Thanks heaps.  Will look in to them.

Just as an aside, I've been told they (crazydomains) cant register the domains I hold.  So will definitely be moving now.

I have a .co.nz registered via CrazyDomains. I couldn't find my UDAI so they emailed it to me, but it doesn't work. anyname.nz says details incorrect.

Mine wouldn't work either.
I had the sneaking suspicion that the UDAI on the page wasn't correct so asked them to generate a new one.
They did it reluctantly (but did it none the less) and sure enough, the new code worked!

I've gone right off them after yesterdays performance from them!

They haven't refunded me yet either!

Further the above,  I've transferred to iwantmyname as freitasm suggested.

Very nice people to deal with, gave me the information I required quickly, and I was able to register my .nz name super fast.  It might cost a little under twice the price, but it's worth it IMHO.

Thanks again freitasm.
