Just wondering if anyone is using Casper to manage their mac fleet and, if so, what your opinion of it is. We are getting more and more mac's and are wanting to get a tool to start managing them. Casper seems to be the go to for lots of people but seems quite expensive to me.

Thanks

I'm part of a team that manage such things at my employer, but I don't do Apple, so I asked our Apple guy for you.. He says yes, it does what it says it will do and assuming you have sufficient number of mac's to manage it's worth it.

cool, thanks for checking for me. We only have about 10 at the moment but I cant tell that its going to expand, possibly up to around 40. Ill try hitting up the vendor and see what price they come back with.

I just implemented Casper last year to manage around 200 Macs. Previously the Macs were managed via Deploy Studio, ARD and Munki.

Depending on how and what you need to manage Casper can be very useful. Jamf have pretty good support (closest helpdesk is in Aus) and an active community online.

Let me know if you've got any specific questions.

What about Cisco Meraki, would that do enough of what you want to do?
It is free. :)
