Hi all,

Am looking for a cloud syslog service to log our modem's syslog to.
We have a syslog server in our network but I don’t want to mess with it for this second trial modem's log.

All the services I've found need a URL link, the modem needs a fixed IP address to send to.
Can ping the services to get their IP address, but they all seem to change their IP adresses every few minutes.

Does anyone know of a cloud syslog service (preferably free or cheap) that you can send your log to a fixed IP address rather than a URL?
Thanks.

I know splunk or loggly but they are not cheap.

If on short budget or prefer the DIY approach you are I'd go for logstash + kibana on a cheap VPS.

OK thanks.

Have looked at various flavours of Splunk and Loggly. Seems they need a URL too rather than having a fixed IP addess... maybe I missed something though?

With Logtash seems this is a syslogd you run on your own server, unless I missed something again.
We already are running a syslog daemon on a server in our LAN, but for this new trial modem I'd rather not mess with our network syslogging daemon after getting it going nice.

Ah... another approach I've tried is to look for a cloud service that'll redirect a fixed IP address to a URL.
Found ones that go URL to URL, and ones that go URL to IP... but none (yet) that'll go IP to URL.

Anyone know of such a service??
Ta.
